Description
Information about MARNYS Cistomar Capsules, 30 capsules
Cistomar Capsules is a food supplement for urinary wellbeing, presented in 30 vegetarian capsules, with cranberry and vitamin C. It has a PAC concentration of 36 mg PACs/dose.
Properties of the ingredients of Cistomar Capsules
The properties of its ingredients help the urinary tract when discomfort occurs, for the following reasons:
🔹American cranberry
The American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) has a high concentration of proanthocyanidins (PACs), which are flavonoids whose property as a bacterial anti-adhesive is particularly useful in the urinary tract.
The PACs in Cystomar are measured by the BL-DMAC method, the most widely recognised method for their assessment.
🔹Vitamin C
Vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system as well as to the protection of cells from oxidative damage. (EFSA).
🔹Fructooligosaccharides
Fructooligosaccharides (minimum content of 90% inulin) share properties with the American cranberry
Who is Cistomar Capsules recommended for?
Cystomar capsules are useful for the well-being of the urinary tract in both adult women and men. Its format is suitable for people with urinary tract episodes of varying intensity.
The most suitable format for episodes of rapid onset and high intensity is Cistomar Forte. The Cistomar capsules and Cistomar syrup formats can continue the action of Cistomar Forte.
✓ Cistomar capsules are suitable for vegans.

What are PACs?
Proanthocyanidins (PACs) are flavonoids found in high concentrations in American Cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon).
Scientific evidence has shown that PACs form an anti-adhesive film on epithelia, which is useful for the urinary tract, especially the bladder.
What is the BL-DMAC method and why is it important?
BL-DMAC is a standardised colorimetric method to quantify the total concentration of PACs in the American cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon).
There are different analytical methods for the determination of PACs (UV, HPLC, BL-DMAC) and the expression of the results varies greatly from one to another, with some of them overestimating up to five times the level of PACs.
According to studies published in prestigious scientific journals, the most highly valued method for measuring the concentration of PACs is the BL-DMAC method, and it is important that it has a minimum concentration of 36 mg PACs per daily dose.
Please note that a high concentration of PACs without an indication of the titration method does not imply a more efficient property.
The PACs at Cistomar are measured according to this BL-DMAC method.
